The Day the World Changed

The following is an open letter on change I shared with the world on 9/11/17, the 16th anniversary of the 9-11 tragedy. In an effort to truly capture the emotion of this letter, I also recorded it on audio. You can listen to the powerful message here

My friends, you have heard a few of these clichés on CHANGE:

“You choose change or change chooses you.”

“Change is inevitable.”

“Growth is painful. Change is painful. But nothing is as painful as staying stuck somewhere you don’t belong.”

“Change is hard at first, messy in the middle and gorgeous at the end.”

“Your life does not get better by chance… it gets better by change.”

Gandhi said, “You be the change you wish to see in the world.”

On September 11, 2001 (9-11), the world changed with one of the greatest tragedies man has known—9-11 and the terrorist attacks of that fateful day. The world hasn’t been the same since and a lot of change has occurred.

A few things:

  1. One, let’s always remember those who have gone before us, including the 2,996 victims who lost their lives to this cowardly act.
  2. In your own life, what is it that you want to change for the better?

Your body. Your mindset. Your nutrition. The quality of your relationships.

Your financial world.

Your career?

The adventure you’re having in life…or not?

How much you give back to your community?

Your spirituality?

A bad habit…

Only you can determine that….

  1. Next, realize that with change, there is often FEAR. And I just recorded a message on FEAR and how it often holds us back from being our best. Let that NOT be you.
  2. Lastly, COMMIT to what you are willing to change….publicly. Share it with a loved one, friend, coworker or colleague, me, or anyone else. Publicly declare what you WILL CHANGE and how it’s going to make you better.

Now, here is the thing with change. Don’t just change to change for change sake. The grass is NOT always greener on the other side. It’s important to realize that if you seek happiness and harmony, CHANGE starts INSIDE of YOU.

And that often means YOU need to change. Your mindset. Your beliefs. Your routines. Your circle of influence. What you are reading? Who you are listening to? What you are watching?

Right now is the perfect time for “change.” It’s a great season that represents change. What needs to die inside of you so that you may have new life all around you?

What do you need to focus on CHANGING in your life?

Think about it, write it down, and then make it real by sharing it. Heck, use me as a platform to share with the world. I’d love to hear what you have to say and support you and help hold you accountable.

My friend, go out and craft up an incredible day today.

Be radiant. Be positive. Embrace change. And ultimately, you be the CHANGE you wish to see in the world.

Think of CHANGE as your WOW….your Word of the Week. What is it that you MOST need to change in your life or business this week? Commit to it and then go out and DO IT.

Much love…and much CHANGE. Word of the Week. CHANGE. Embrace it.

Now, it’s time for me to go and CHANGE the world. Are you with me? See you at the top!!

Todd

P.S. My visit to the 9-11 Memorial. On September 15, 2016, I went LIVE on Facebook from the National September 11 Memorial in one of the most emotional eight minutes of my life. If you’d like to take a quick “trip” to New York City with me to pay your respects, you can check out my ground zero message here.
