I’ve Never Been More Proud

What an incredible weekend in Canton, OH at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony for LaDainian Tomlinson. Words can’t even describe my emotions at the “Gold Jacket” ceremony Friday night and the “Enshrinement” ceremony on Saturday night. The enshrinement ceremony was a 2nd career highlight in less than 3 weeks.

When I was a young boy, I never even dreamt that I would go to Canton.

And while no, I wasn’t the one who was getting inducted into the Hall of Fame, a small-part of me was so proud to know that I played a small part in the success of one of the greatest running backs to ever play the game.

Did you happen to hear/see LaDainian’s acceptance speech? WOW.

LT spoke about his deep-seated faith. Family. Dreams. Hard-work. Humility. Sacrifice. Humble beginnings. His ancestry. And his desire to continue to make a difference in the world. It was as much a call to action by every American to be a better “teammate” regardless of race, creed, or belief system as it was a traditional acceptance speech where he thanked all the people who have had a hand in his success.

Oh yeah, one more thing he talked about…our training. Man, I got so choked up when LaDainian was talking about our training together that I don’t even remember what he said. I was too busy flashing back to all the blood, sweat, and tears (literally) we shared together over 9-years of training.

Good thing my friends caught it on TV so I could give you a quick sound-byte “highlight tape” of it all today…

My friends, I can honestly say that I’ve never been MORE proud to be a trainer and coach than I was Saturday night reveling in LT’s enshrinement. To see his bust revealed and know that he will forever be etched into NFL History is truly an overwhelming feeling. And one that evokes tremendous gratitude in me.
Saturday night truly was magical. And I realize that life is all about creating magical moments. This was certainly one of them that I will NEVER forget.

I realize the hard-work, sacrifice, commitment, toughness, tenacity, and mindset necessary to get to the top. It often takes a village to create massive success and significance. And in this case, I’m just glad to be part of the village.

I also realize that my purpose is best fulfilled when I am working my butt off, dreaming BIG and playing outside the box. I personally like that space.

How about you? When do you do your BEST work?
Are you living your life’s purpose?
What can you do to create more “magical moments” in your life?

I do know that when you’re on a quest to deepen your PURPOSE, that your PASSION soars. And when you are playing with both PASSION and PURPOSE, more magical moments are naturally created. And we ALL like that.

Much love…and much WOW!

Your proud coach,

Todd
