ABOUT THE DURKIN IMPACT FOUNDATION

The Durkin IMPACT Foundation was started in 2012 by Todd and his wife Melanie, when his hometown of Brick, New Jersey, was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. He and Melanie knew they had to do something to help the people in Brick who were struggling as a result of the hurricane.

We are a nonprofit organization that is committed to giving back to those in need, especially those affected by mental health, suicide, and diseases such as cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. Additionally, we offer scholarships each year to graduating high school senior student-athletes who exemplify and epitomize IMPACT standards in the classroom, on the field, and in the community. Each scholarship ranges from $500 to $2,500.

Ten years later, The Durkin IMPACT Foundation has awarded more than $250,000 in scholarships to deserving student-athletes across the country.

MISSION

The Durkin IMPACT Foundation is a 501(c)(3) that was founded in 2012 on the heels of Hurricane Sandy devastating Todd’s home area of the Jersey Shore. It was established to help those in need and pay it forward all while motivating and inspiring people to be the best they can be, even when tough times hit.

Since its creation in 2012, the mission has remained the same: to give back to those in need and make the world a better place through grace, servanthood, humility, gratitude, and IMPACT.

FUNDING PRIORITIES

The IMPACT Foundation Founders, Todd and Melanie Durkin, along with the Board of Trustees respond to the needs of people affected by mental health, suicide prevention, natural disasters, critical or terminal illnesses such as cancer and heart disease, disability challenges, and student-athletes in-need. We are dedicated to funding five (5) significant program areas of interest within the following general annual distribution and allocation percentages:

  • Mental Health/Suicide Prevention: 30%
  • Natural Disaster Relief (lost or displaced homes, out of work, etc.): 20%
  • Medical & Health: 20%
  • Educational & Athletic: 20%
  • Environment: 10%

Note: From time to time, the Trust may make awards to organizations and institutions that have made no formal request, which we have recognized for exemplary work, and/or show significant promise in one or more of these five areas, and whose continuing work and mission would be more fully enhanced and supported by this funding.
