The WALL from Brick

I had the opportunity to play goalie against Landon Donovan, Shannon McMillan, and a host of other former athletes and current media in a “Celebrity Soccer Game” last week. There were about 6,000 people at the game (the Celebrity Game was at halftime of a San Diego Socker’s indoor professional league game) so it was a great atmosphere.

I was so fired-up to play in the game that I requested to play goalie. I really wanted Donovan to blister a shot at me to see JUST how hard it really is to stop.

So I wore a Go-Pro camera on my head.I got the fattest and best goalie gloves to protect my “mitts.”And I wore my tights to get ready for all the diving on the turf.

We ended up winning the game 3-1. More than the score, it was great to connect with some awesome people and test myself against some pretty good competition. ☺

A few lessons to pass on:

Get out there and PLAY this week.
