Faith Over Fear–Thoughts from an Airplane at 30,000 feet…and the launch of the GOOD NEWS Network

I’m writing this letter at 30,000 feet on an Alaska Airlines flight on the way back from Orlando, FL, to San Diego, CA.

And I just got done recording a podcast up here. Literally. Listen now.

What a crazy few days it has been.

It is said that crazy times require desperate measures. And this certainly is one of the most challenging and unprecedented times in our world’s history.

Like you, I have been watching the pandemic unfold from China, to Asia, to Europe, and throughout the world…including North America.

Most everyone has taken drastic measures to ensure health, safety, and hygiene around the house, at the gym, on airplanes, and everywhere you’ve been.

Let’s continue to do so!

So check this crazy timeline out from just a few days ago when the world changed quickly:

Thursday (March 12th), 7:45 am PST. I take off from San Diego for Orlando, FL to present at the Perform Better 1-Day Show. I was so pumped because it was the debut of my “20 Top Lessons in 20-Years of Business” presentation. I had put in excess of 30-hours of preparation into crushing my debut.

Thursday (March 12th), 4:00 pm. I land in Orlando, FL, and it seemed like the world changed all in a matter of hours.

March Madness was canceled.

The NBA & NHL season was canceled.

Spring Training was canceled and the start of MLB is delayed.

Most colleges & universities are shut down until the end of the semester.

Most schools are shut down until at-least early April.

Most youth sports, performances, and activities are shut down for at last 3-weeks, possibly longer.

And a whole ton more…

It was like the world changed in a mere few hours.

Friday, March 13th, 9:00 am. The Perform Better Conference gets canceled because of the coronavirus. Danged-it!

Friday, March 13th, 6:20 pm. I changed my flight back to San Diego to get home to my family and business because of the uncertainty of future flights being canceled or airlines reducing the number of flights due to decreased airline travel.

On that flight home to San Diego, I recorded a podcast from Seat 7A called, “FAITH OVER FEAR—Thoughts from an Airplane at 30,000 Feet.”

I’ve never recorded a podcast from an airplane before but this is as real and authentic as it gets. I leap-frogged it in front of several other episodes lined-up because of its importance during these crucial times.

Heck, I even share a deep prayer at the end of the podcast for ALL so that we can truly trump FEAR with FAITH. Regardless of your faith, belief, or denomination, I ask you to pray with me during this tough time in our country and world’s history.

I’m sharing it ALL with you NOW and highly ENCOURAGE you to LISTEN in.

Check it out now…

The episode is 23 minutes long and I give 5 very specific things I believe we ALL need to do right now to help us deal with the 2 pandemics going on…the coronavirus pandemic and the FEAR pandemic.

Please listen to it and LMK what you think when you’re done listening…

When I landed back in San Diego late Friday night, I was just grateful. Even though I just took off 36-hours prior, I was grateful.

Grateful for a safe trip and grateful that I got to hang with my 86-year old Mom “Muffy” for about 24 uninterrupted hours.

Nowadays, I appreciate every second with her. And I mean that literally.

We had dinner Thursday night.

We hung and talked about the events of the world going on today.

We ate lunch together Friday with my brother Paul & sister-in-law Gloria.

We hung out with my sister Karen and niece Madeline.

Heck, we even recorded a podcast.

Yes, I said WE EVEN RECORDED A PODCAST!

You will receive that one this Thursday….and you are going to LOVE it!!

So all-in-all, I got to see my Mom, some of my family, record 2-podcasts, got in a workout, and got some serious work done on the plane.

Not a bad trip overall, despite the craziness all around.

Folks, we are in uncharted territory. I can tell you this…

1. We need to take care of ourselves MORE now than EVER before. Workouts are no longer optional. Whether done in the gym, outside, or at home, they MUST get done. It’s the one saving grace we can control.

2. Prayer works. Our world needs prayer now more than ever. Let’s be sure to GO DEEPER in prayer than ever before.

3. We must limit the amount of NEWS and garbage we watch on TV. Schools are closed. Several businesses are closed. Don’t consume more than ONE-HOUR of TV per day. It’s toxic. It’s paralyzing. And you WILL be notified if something big happens that you need additional information on.

Have a nice morning. I hope to see you in a few hours with some “GOOD NEWS.” See below and you will see what I’m talking about.

Much love…See you in a bit,

Todd
