“When you’re told you can’t do this or do that from parents and doctors, how do you flip that switch from “I can’t do it” to “I can do it”?
This is something I have struggled with. I want to go out and conquer the world, but when it comes down to it, I end up telling myself I can’t do that. I once had a doctor tell me you should not be rollerblading. I did it anyway because I love to do it! I realize why the doctor told me I can’t do rollerblading. I could’ve had seizures, but it wasn’t as bad back then. I wish I could get to the point where I tell myself yes you can go hiking up a mountain or yes let’s go skydiving!”
