My Top 4 Takeaways from Super Bowl 59 [TD Times]

Good afternoon! I hope you had a SUPER weekend and are fired-up for the week ahead.

I just got back home yesterday afternoon just as the Big Game was kicking off. I was down in Miami, FL, the last few days speaking at a Men’s Retreat called “REDEEMED” that’s geared to those looking to go deeper on “Faith & Fitness.” My good friend Justin Roethlingshoefer hosts the event and it’s always great to meet other kindred spirits looking to deepen their faith- walks and fitness journeys.

GREAT Time Speaking at the REDEEMED Retreat in Miami, FL, on Friday & Saturday

Speaking of SUPER, here are my 4 Points/Takeaways from Super Bowl 59 and why the Eagles won 40-22 (in reverse-order):

Point #4. Let’s address the commercials first. Here were my Top 3 favorites:

NFL—”I AM SOMEBODY”

Budweiser—I just always love the Clydesdale horses. #Tradition

Jeep Wrangler—“FREEDOM isn’t FREE…Write your own owner’s manual” with Harrison Ford. Loved it!

Point #3. The TRENCHES. Can you say LINE OF SCRIMMAGE DOMINATION by the EAGLES.

One of the reasons why I predicted the Eagles were going to win 38-27 was because I knew BOTH sides of the ball for the Eagles were big, strong, and dominant. I just didn’t know they were THAT dominant. WOW. The Eagles won the battle of the trenches and controlled the L.O.S.

Point #2. Eagles DEFENSE. Their ENTIRE defense.

I knew they were good. But they were dominant.

6 sacks of Mahomes. 2 interceptions. 1 pick-6. And they didn’t even blitz one time in the first half.

Point #1. Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley.

Love this combo. It was obvious the Chiefs were not going to let Barkley beat them. Not that he acted as a decoy because he played a tough game.

The Chiefs were NOT going to let Barkley beat them. But this was Hurts’ moment to shine and he was 17-21 for 221 yards passing, 72 yards rushing, he accounted for 3 TD’s and he earned the Super Bowl MVP!

I predicted before the game that the Eagles were going to win 37-28 with Barkley being the MVP. The reason I picked the Eagles was because their ability to dominate the Line of Scrimmage. I didn’t realize it would be that lopsided though.

I must say, the Super Bowl is as much an American tradition as many of our other national holidays. The parties. The celebrations. The hoopla. The pageantry all week at the game. And then the game itself. WOW!

Time for these players to get a break for a few weeks before they start prepping again for next season. In the meantime, I’m already rolling with some of the guys whose season ended a few weeks ago and are already working on becoming a CHAMPION next season.

My friends, let’s create a LOVELY week. Haha. Yes, it’s Valentine’s Day this Friday and I hope your week is full of LOVE, LEADERSHIP, LIGHT…and of course, IMPACT!

Much LOVE,

TD
