I am so excited to continue the Pillars of I.M.P.A.C.T. Today, we are picking up right where we left off on Episode #1, and now we are defining the “A.C.T.” of IMPACT!

Now, let us get it started with “A,” Take ACTION.
Let me ask you, what is it that you want to accomplish in your life? Have you really thought about it? Do me a favor and don’t answer it now but really think it through. If you could do anything in your life, what would it be?
Maybe it’s in business, and you want to grow your business, your finances, your leadership, or your career. What are you willing to do to get there? More importantly, are you ready to take ACTION to get there?
Or perhaps you want to take ACTION on your personal goals. Losing weight, improving your health, decreasing stress, improving a relationship, or taking control of your schedule to better, more effectively manage your time and ENERGY.
Sometimes your BEST ACTION comes after your biggest defeats. Not that anyone wants to “lose” more or suffer set-back, but that often prompts us to take ACTION. Today, my encouragement is to NOT WAIT for something BIG to happen for you to take ACTION. Take it today.
For me, when Hurricane Sandy hit the Eastern seaboard in 2012, it was the impetus for me to start my non-profit IMPACT Foundation. That disaster actually gave me the motivation to take action. Again, let’s not wait for a “hurricane,” diagnosis or disaster to happen to force you to make the change you want to make. Take ACTION TODAY on what you MOST want to do in life NOW.
Next up is “C” for Condition for Greatness.
I have always had the philosophy of “10-in-10 out.” 10 is the striving for excellence in your life. And to achieve what you want, you must put “in” a “10” effort. A “7” effort is NOT going to help you live a “10” life.
Whether it’s your body, mind, or spirit, it takes dedication and commitment to your conditioning to amp it up and improve your health and well-being.
Tend to all 3 of these areas of your life and you will discover more energy, vitality, happiness, and fulfillment.
How can you “condition” your body? My advice is to start working out if you are not currently on a regular routine. Get out and move your body and if you need a coach, make the investment in one. And if you are already working out, amp it up a notch or two. Remember, “10-in-10-out!”
How do you condition your mindset? It’s all about getting your mind right every day. It takes visualization and affirmations, surrounding yourself with other fire-breathing dragons, being careful of what you consume on TV or social media. Bottom line is that everything that comes into your brain is ultimately processed in your mind. BE CAREFUL to make sure you are feeding your body and brain with nothing but high-octane fuel and mind-expanding, inspirational content.
How do you condition your spirit? You pray, you meditate, you workout, you worship, and you tap into the spirit that’s inside of you. Listen, that’s where the wisdom is found.
Lastly, let’s talk about the “T” for Tenacity.
For 9 years, I always had a “BHAG” to be on a TV show. For 9 years, I would put it on my Annual Roadmap and Strategic Plan (something I share with my Mastermind group every year). Well, finally I took it off my “wish-list” in 2016 because I came to terms that it was never happening. And of course later that year, I received a call to be on a TV Show called NBC Strong (now on Netflix), where 10 trainers would train 10 females and compete for a half a million dollars.
For me to go on that show, 6 things needed to happen:
First, because of my family history of heart disease, I had to undergo an intense heart scan. Thankfully I passed.
Second, Under Armour had to sign off on me wearing a different apparel company if the show was sponsored by another brand. Kevin Plank, the founder, and CEO of Under Armour gave his thumbs-up and blessing. BOOM.
Third, I had to cancel my 3.5 Day Mentorship Program. I do this program every year and had never skipped or canceled one in 14 years. Canceling it affected my entire team, we were in the final stages, and it cost me over $30,000 to cancel because of contracts with the hotel and venue. OUCH!
Fourth, I had to cancel a speaking gig at a big conference, which I had never done before.
Next, I would be leaving my business for up to 3-months.
And lastly, I also would have to leave my family with little contact over the 90-days of being away filming the show.
Fortunately, I trusted my gut and made the decision to go ALL-IN. When you are all-in, it’s a lot easier to have a TENACIOUS spirit. I’m glad I decided to go onto STRONG and show-up ALL-IN.
Need I remind you of the strength and power that already exists inside of you? You know it’s there! When it comes to tenacity, you have to fight for your dreams, you have to sacrifice like heck to get there. You will sometimes have to play hurt, sick, and tired. And ultimately, you have to have the tenacity to dig down deep and get it done. Channel your spirit, and great things will happen.
I leave you with this when your opportunity comes, don’t wait, go get it! Take Action, Condition for Greatness, and have the Tenacity to get it done! That my friends is IMPACT!!!
