The Tale of Two Wolves

Do you ever waver between “good” and “bad” thoughts in a day?

Or one minute you are feeling positive and “up” and the next minute you are feeling negative, down, or depressed?

I hear you.

I was speaking at Christian Unified Schools (El Cajon, CA) this past week to 800+ kids at chapel and the topic was the “A, B, C’s of LIFE!” I was really trying to drive into MINDSET and SOULSET with these high-school and middle-school students who can’t get enough good “mana” these days.

I loved every second of it and several kids came up after and said, “That was your best one yet.”

I’m not sure that was the case or not but I do think it’s WHERE the AUDIENCE is at in their walk/journey and HOW they are listening that makes it “sticky” or not.

Presenting my “A, B, C’s of LIFE” Talk at Christian Unified Chapel last week

But one of the things I shared with the kids and that resonated deeply (and it’s no different for us adults) is a powerful fable called “The Tale of Two Wolves.” This is how it goes…

The Tale of Two Wolves

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.

He said, “My son, the battle is between two ‘wolves’ inside us all.

One ‘wolf’ is evil. It is full of anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other ‘wolf’ is good. It is full of joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion,  and faith.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf wins?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

Which ‘wolf’ are you feeding these days?

Are you giving too much time & energy to the “bad” wolf; the “evil” wolf? The wolf that is full of all the toxicity, negativity, and

Or are you investing your precious time in feeding the right wolf?

Every single day, regardless of WHO you are, you gotta make sure you FEED THE RIGHT WOLF!!!

Much love…and go FEED THE RIGHT WOLF!
