4 Ways To Deliver Value And Convert Clients To Lifelong Fans

Regardless of their areas of expertise, world-class performers consistently deliver value to their tribe, AKA the people they impact. Whether I’m presenting a keynote for Fortune 500 executives or training in the Fitness Quest 10 trenches, I know the name of the game is providing value; and value transcends fitness, my friends.

Here are four strategies I use as vehicles for value. Like I always say, if you have one person (yes, one), you have a business. And regardless of size, value is universally in demand. It’s time to deliver on demands and convert clients to superfans.

#1 Education: I firmly believe everyone should dedicate 30 minutes a day to learning to live their best life possible (heck, it’s one of my personal life rules). Just as you feed your own soul with new knowledge, why not do the same for your tribe?

Educational opportunities are excellent ways to provide extra value. For my fitness friends, have a local nutritionist host a Q&A for personal training clients, invite a physician to speak on back pain prevention, or give a current client the chance to share his or her success story. If guest speakers aren’t feasible for you, hand out free copies of your favorite book (we shared the WOW book with our FQ10 family), record a client-only podcast, or piece together your own e-book.

#2 Contests: Get the competitive juices flowing and create your own client-only contests. Nothing gets people engaged like the opportunity to win prizes and some fun along the way. No contest is too big or too small to deliver a little extra value (or “and then some,” as my mantra goes).

My favorite? Holiday contests. Help your clients burn the bird after Thanksgiving with a free fitness challenge. When Halloween rolls around, hold a costume contest before the trick-or-treating takes over. Trade the Easter egg hunt for an Easter ab hunt, or host a custom “hunt” to fit your clientele. You get the idea; contests create value.

#3 Celebrations: Celebrate the small — and big — victories with your clients. In fact, I suggest you take it a step further and make the celebrations about them. Did the light bulb just illuminate in your brain? Celebrate your clients and they will celebrate you.

The secret sauce of success is celebrating the people you touch. Acknowledge their birthdays, reward their successes, and host client appreciation parties where they are the sole focus. At Fitness Quest 10, we even honor members of the month.  When I say celebrate, a T-shirt and hand-written note can be just as powerful as a party.

#4 Ask!: If you want more, you have to GIVE more. What do you give? Ask your tribe! Reach out to your top fans, followers, clients, and members, and ask them what they want more of from you. Then, deliver on it!

It’s not about what you think they need, it’s always about what they tell you they want and need. It’s as simple as that.

And then some…

I’ll leave you with this, my friends. Rather than focus on making money, focus on creating value and you will find the significance — and success — you seek.  As always, take these four vehicles of value and start firing away.

P.S. How can I help YOU?
